People Can’t Believe These Stunning Cars Are Made in China

10. ZEEKR MIX

ZEEKR MIX

The ZEEKR MIX is a compact luxury electric MPV made by ZEEKR — Geely's premium EV sub-brand (the same parent company as Volvo and Polestar). Launched in October 2024 in China, it's the most unconventional family vehicle you've never heard of. Equal parts minivan, lounge room, and spaceship.

Think of it as a VW ID.Buzz that went to design school in the future — then got a tech degree to match.

The Lineup (China Prices in USD)

  • 76 kWh Standard: ~$40,000, 76 kWh LFP, ~435 mi

  • 102 kWh Long Range: ~$43,000, 102 kWh NMC, ~436 mi

Why It's a Big Deal

  • No B-Pillar: Three sliding doors (front passenger side + both rear), a hidden structural B-pillar made from 2,000 MPa steel for safety, and an entrance width of 58 inches — the widest entry of any production MPV. Getting in and out is effortless even with a stroller in one hand.

  • The Rotating Seats: The world's first mass-produced car with fully electric 270-degree rotating front seats — driver and passenger both. Combined with nearly 2-meter-long shared slide rails connecting front and rear rows, the cabin reconfigures into 9 different modes: lounge, bed, office, dining room, and more.

  • Cabin Space: 6.3 square meters of interior space — a 93% in-cabin space utilization rate, compared to under 70% for most SUVs. Interior height is 53 inches — you can almost stand up. Floor height is just 15 inches off the ground, making it easy to step in.

  • Interior Highlights: A large floating central touchscreen, an AR heads-up display, a built-in center console fridge, a retractable table, and voice control from any seat position. Fully foldable seats turn the cabin into a flat sleeping space.

  • 800V Charging: Both battery options use 800V architecture — the 76 kWh charges 10–80% in 10.5 minutes; the 102 kWh Kirin battery does the same in just 10 minutes flat.

  • Autonomous Driving: Two Nvidia DRIVE Orin-X chips powering ZEEKR's Haohan 2.0 ADAS with roof-mounted LiDAR — Level 2+ hands-free highway driving standard.

  • Safety: Despite the pillarless design, it's passed a 60 km/h side crash test and had a 2.2-ton container dropped on its roof with zero structural deformation. Torsional rigidity of 37,600 Nm/deg — stiffer than a BMW X5 (31,700 Nm/deg).

  • Design: Rounded, two-tone capsule shape with through-type LED headlights. No one will mistake this for a Toyota Sienna.
