Netflix has finally given XO, Kitty fans the answer they’ve been waiting for.

Ahead of the Season 3 premiere, the streamer released the opening minutes of the new season, offering the first real look at what happens right after Kitty Song Covey’s emotional final scene with Min Ho. The preview picks up directly after the Season 2 cliffhanger, when Kitty asks if she can join him, setting the stage for what looks like a much bigger and more unpredictable chapter for the pair.

The new footage doesn’t just tease romance. It also signals that Season 3 is ready to push Kitty into unfamiliar territory as she steps into another round of change, uncertainty, and feelings she can’t easily map out. After spending so much of last season circling around her growing connection with Min Ho, the series appears ready to move that storyline forward instead of dragging out the tension.

According to showrunner Valentina Garza, that was very much the point. In comments shared with Netflix Tudum, Garza said it was important for the new season to return immediately to Min Ho’s response and use that moment as the launch point for the next adventure. She also described Season 3 as a story about Kitty learning that life rarely follows the plan she imagined, and that sometimes the biggest surprises come when she lets go of expectations.

That setup fits perfectly with where the show left off. By the end of Season 2, Kitty had already gone through one of her most transformative stretches yet, from family discoveries to personal growth to finally facing the truth about her feelings. Now, with Season 3 arriving, it looks like the series is leaning into the emotional messiness that fans have come to love, especially when it comes to Kitty and Min Ho’s slow-burn dynamic.

The timing couldn’t be better for fans counting down the return. XO, Kitty Season 3 premieres on Netflix on April 2, and this early preview feels designed to reward viewers who have been obsessing over that final “wait” moment since Season 2 ended. If the first scene is any indication, the new season is wasting no time getting straight to the drama.

For longtime viewers, that’s exactly what makes this teaser work. It doesn’t overexplain, and it doesn’t try too hard to manufacture hype. It simply picks up the emotional thread fans were most invested in and gives it momentum. If the rest of the season follows that same energy, Season 3 could end up being the show’s most satisfying chapter yet.
