Apple TV Unveils First Teaser for Darkly Comic Thriller Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed Starring Tatiana Maslany and Jake Johnson
Apple TV has officially lifted the curtain on Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, giving viewers their first taste of the upcoming darkly comic thriller led by Tatiana Maslany and Jake Johnson. The newly announced series is set to premiere globally on May 20, launching with its first two episodes before continuing weekly through July 15.
Created and executive produced by David J. Rosen, the half-hour series centers on Paula, a newly divorced mother played by Maslany, whose already complicated life spirals into something far more dangerous after she becomes convinced she has witnessed a crime. What begins as suspicion soon pulls her into a chaotic web of blackmail, murder, youth soccer politics, and a much larger mystery that could upend everything she thought she knew.
As Paula tries to navigate a custody battle and a personal identity crisis, she takes matters into her own hands and begins an investigation of her own. The result is a tense but sharply offbeat story that blends suburban dysfunction with thriller energy, promising a mix of suspense, humor, and emotional fallout.
Alongside Maslany and Johnson, the ensemble cast features Brandon Flynn, Murray Bartlett, Jessy Hodges, Jon Michael Hill, Charlie Hall, Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg, Nola Wallace, and Dolly De Leon. Behind the camera, David Gordon Green directs and executive produces, with additional executive producers including Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, Bard Dorros, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Elise Henderson.
With its fresh mix of mystery and dark comedy, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is shaping up to be one of Apple TV’s more intriguing spring releases, pairing a strong cast with a premise that feels both wildly unpredictable and strangely relatable in all the messiest ways.
