Apple TV has officially unveiled the first trailer for Margo’s Got Money Troubles, offering an early look at what could be one of the streamer’s standout new series this spring. Fronted by Elle Fanning, the upcoming eight-episode dramedy is based on Rufi Thorpe’s bestselling novel and brings together a high-profile cast that includes Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, and Thaddea Graham.

Set to premiere globally on April 15, 2026, the series will launch with its first three episodes before continuing weekly through May 20. The newly released footage teases a sharp, emotionally layered story with a mix of family dysfunction, financial chaos, and offbeat humor, all centered on a young woman trying to keep her life from unraveling.

Fanning stars as Margo, a recent college dropout and aspiring writer who suddenly finds herself navigating early motherhood while staring down a growing stack of bills and very few options. Her already complicated life is made even messier by her unconventional parents: a former Hooters waitress played by Michelle Pfeiffer and an ex-pro wrestler played by Nick Offerman. The trailer hints at the kind of unpredictable family dynamic that could give the show both its heart and its bite.

Nicole Kidman also joins the ensemble in a key role, adding even more prestige to a cast that already feels stacked. The supporting lineup includes Marcia Gay Harden, Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Rico Nasty, and Lindsey Normington, rounding out a group that gives the series serious depth across both drama and comedy.

Behind the camera, the project comes from A24 and acclaimed creator David E. Kelley, who serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Fanning is also executive producing, alongside Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures, with Kidman and Per Saari producing through Blossom Films. Michelle Pfeiffer, author Rufi Thorpe, Eva Anderson, and Boo Killebrew are also among the executive producers.

The pilot is directed by Dearbhla Walsh, with additional episodes helmed by Kate Herron and Alice Seabright, suggesting a stylish and character-driven approach throughout the season. For Apple TV, the series also marks another notable collaboration with Kelley following the success of Presumed Innocent, which remains one of the platform’s major drama titles.

With its blend of literary pedigree, darkly funny premise, and an awards-friendly cast, Margo’s Got Money Troubles is shaping up as one of Apple TV’s most intriguing new releases of 2026. If the trailer is any indication, viewers can expect a messy, funny, and unexpectedly touching story about survival, reinvention, and the strange ways family can both save and sabotage you.
