Amanda Seyfried is officially slipping into the glass slippers once again, but this time with a fresh twist. The actress has joined Netflix’s upcoming animated feature Steps, where she will voice Cinderella in a playful and modern reimagining of the beloved fairy tale.

Rather than retelling the classic princess story from the usual angle, Steps turns the spotlight toward Cinderella’s famously villainized stepsisters. The film follows Lilith, a misunderstood sibling who finds herself in the middle of chaos after a magical mishap at the royal ball leaves the kingdom in danger. When her sister is accidentally transformed into a frog and the fairytale order starts to unravel, Lilith is forced into an unlikely alliance with Cinderella herself.

Seyfried’s casting adds a major spark to the project, especially as the creative team promises a version of Cinderella that feels more grounded, funny, and emotionally layered than audiences might expect.
